The bible says that God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The
idea of America is also a spirit, and a spirit can never die. It is a spirit of free will, but with duty and
restraint. It is a spirit that resists the use force, or coercion to plunder its way. The American spirit offers
peace and prosperity to us all, but it will fight when it is under attack. It is a spirit that rejects the will of
the mob, and instead values justice and the rule of law. The spirit values individual uniqueness and
talent, and it celebrates the treasures that they bring. The spirit knows that life is a gift, and the gift
brings with it unalienable rights. The spirit of America values hard work and honest dealings, and it
detests faulty weights, and corruption, or greed. The spirit of America loves the children of our future,
and it rebels when those innocent ones are let astray. The spirit of America cries yes to mercy and
compassion, but declares no to uncontrolled vengeance. The spirit says you can chart the course that
you choose, but you should remember to care for the weak. The spirit says here I am! Please remember
me if you can. The spirit can speak to us all, and it so desperately wants to be heard. We can speak to
the spirit too, but its language is called faith and its sound is silent prayer. The spirit of America after all
is closely related to the spirit of God, and in God we shall trust, and for America we will pray.
